About Form 1040-X

• Who fills it in: Individuals who find a mistake or a change after their return was filed.
• Where it goes: The IRS. It can also be filed electronically for recent years; see the official page.
• Each amended year needs its own Form 1040-X.
• If you send it on paper, how it must be signed is set by the instructions — some forms need a signature in ink, so print the filled form and sign it by hand.

How to fill it in with PDFPane
