About Form 1099-MISC

• Who fills it in: Businesses that made these payments during the year.
• Where it goes: Copy B goes to the recipient; the IRS copy is filed separately.
• Copy A, the one for the government, is printed in red ink and read by machines: the copy printed from this PDF cannot be filed. File it electronically or on the official printed form; the other copies can be filled here.
